Re: Team against Leicester
Lanzini will be wasted anywhere if we can't get the ball to him we need to learn to control and pass the fucker.

Hammers1993 9:48 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
Yeah. Personally I’d go for the diamond with Ayew and Sakho up top and Lanzini in the hole behind. He’s wasted out on the left.

Mex Martillo 9:36 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
I prefer Ayew as he has scored a few, having said that I think Arnie looks a better player, but we need goals and Ayew has been doing the business

Hammers1993 9:25 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
Mex, I think Arnie’s been cleared as fit for Friday as no breakages.

Odd one because he was showing good signs on Sunday before he went off but I can see why people wouldn’t start him.

Re: Team against Leicester
Why do some think others aren't fans because they don't view everything the club does with claret and blue specs.

Thinking everything is great when it's clearly a shit storm is bizarre.
Saying others aren't proper supporters because they're not out of touch with reality and confusing what they post here as not backing the team, this is a forum so where else better to vent.

Mex Martillo 8:45 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
Infidel, I think Moyes is different from BFS and Pulis, plays less long ball and more attacking.
I hope I am right and you are wrong...

Re: Team against Leicester
Infidel....think exactly the same way about Reid, classed by many as our best defender....a real donkey of a defender who comes up with the occasional decent block.,and bugger all else..we are doomed!

Re: Team against Leicester
If Noble is our best midfielder we are well and truly dead in the water.

He is nowhere near Premiership levels of pace or ability.

Mex Martillo 7:39 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
Fucking hell, thank you Dealcanvey, I thought I was the only west ham fan that had noticed Noble has been our best midfielder. I understand the unfortunately, but Noble gives his best and does not hide.

One thing I notice over the years about Noble is that the opposition do not often try and get the ball off him as he uses that movement to get past them or pass leaving them out of position. Watch Obiang and Kouyate, opposition usually get straight into them for the ball.

Infidel 7:35 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
After 50 years of watching football I can tell you that playing negative anti-football in an attempt to get a draw occasionally works but most often results in the sort of defeat fans of football hate - the one-way traffic sort where your team doesn't even get out of gear.

Moyes and his ilk - BFS, Pulis etc - believe in this monstrous, despicable brand of football because of fear. They are afraid that if they tell the players to pass the ball around, attack, run at opponents they will be overrun and get humiliated 4-0 or 5-0.

That terrifies them. They would rather a 'respectable' 2-0 defeat than a spanking.

Anyone on here who thinks Moyes will tell our players to attack on Friday is delusional. He will do what he always does - order it to be passed across the back four, passed back to the keeper and generally kept in our own half.

When we go a goal down that will all change. Then the orders will be to lump it up to Carroll. It will come straight back every time because all Premier League centre halfs are far to good to be beaten by long balls hoofed over the top.

Any team that loses to us now should hang their heads in shame. We are not even trying to win. We are trying to draw and we are inviting the opposition to attack us for 90 minutes. Any team that still loses after being invited to lay siege to our goal for most of the game should have their wages docked.

Moyes is Moyes. He won't suddenly become a good coach. He is afraid to play football. That's what we are lumbered with until he gets sacked.

Re: Team against Leicester
Hammers1993, you were right Arnautovic, a slight doubt now for Friday

KLM don't be mistaken to think the tossers that post most on our dear WHO site are representative of the west ham fan base, they are not, they are a bunch of miserable old moaning cunts.

Sir Alf, I would not play Obaing and Rice before Noble and Reid. Noble has been playing much better than Obaing, who was hiding from responsibilities against Watford. He improved in the 2nd half, I think (hope) Moyes told him he was playing shit. Reid did not have a good game, but he was just off a flight from Peru. I thought Moyes should not have played him. I could not understand it 2 weeks with a large part of the squad and then bring in a jet lagged central defender that has had little or no contact with you, the squad and your new plans and training? Strange one that.

dealcanvey 7:09 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
Like the tactics Sir Alf but how the hell Obiang is making peoples teams is beyond me. Noble is the best of a very bad bunch unfortunately. At least Noble wont go hiding. Obiang was the worst I had seen him against Watford. Really no confidence whatsoever.

Mart O 6:50 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
May be nice and solid down the flanks, Alf, but have you seen Iborra and Ndidi play for LCFC recently? They will eat your team alive in midfield.

Fuck me, and this after 5 million plus posts about how we're too weak in the middle of the park...;-)

Sir Alf 6:41 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
If Antonio is out he will essentially have the same squad but with Ayew?

If he plays a back 4 and narrow as we did on Saturday with Noble, Kouyate and Obiang in midfield we will again find the wide players having a field day. Mahrez, Albrighton etc. Cresswell and Zabaletta were exposed several times

If he does not put pace in defence we will struggle with Vardy etc. Rice and Kouyate in the back three and Kouyate told he needs to move club to play in midfield on a regular basis. IMO.

I would drop Hart for Adrian too. He looks lumbering and slow to get down to anything low.

Arfur to come in wide left in front of Cresswell with instructions to defend the counter and generally limit the supply to Mahrez.. Sakho up top.

We have to have more pace and better distribution and have the midfield moving constantly. The worry is Lanzini and Arnie not putting a shift in defensively and tbh Obiang has not been much this season but did at least put in the most tackles and have the most touches even if many of them were ... crap

The whole point is to add some pace and mobility. Moyes will probably stick with his tried and tested 4-3-3 with Carroll :-(

------------------------ Hart
------- Kouyate ---- Rice ----- Ogbonna
Zab ---------------------------------Cresswell
Arnie -------- Obiang --- Lanzini----- Arfur
----------------- Sakho---------------------------

Re: Team against Leicester
I hope and expect to win. But I am sure I am in a tiny minority. I guess most WH fans want to get beat, which proves they are not fit to tie the shoelaces of Chelsea, spurs or millwall fans who, whatever else you say about them, stick by their team. Even the gay boys of Brighton are made of sterner stuff, as they stuck by their team against mighty stoke when they were losing.

Anyway, those that don’t like the team, the ground, the manager or us happy clapper, plastic fans should ask Themselves why even bother with WH. Just go down the pub and get drunk and mutter, “I told you so”

If he persists with Carroll on Friday then he deserves all of the abuse he gets.

the sooner that bloke leaves the club the better

Re: Team against Leicester
Mex, I'm glad you took the time to see who is injured mate.

All these teams with Chicharito listed are pretty pointless reading.

Anybody think we will actually win Friday?

Mex Martillo 7:21 Wed Nov 22
Re: Team against Leicester
Oh dear, new problem for Moyes is we are top of the injury table

Arnautovic - Broken Thumb - No Return Date - Major Doubt
Ayew - Illness - November 24, 2017 - Slight Doubt
Hernandez - Hamstring Injury - December 3, 2017 - Not available
Byram - Thigh Strain - December 3, 2017 - Not available
Fonte - Ankle Injury - January 20, 2018 - No
Antonio - Rib Injury - November 24, 2017 - Major Doubt
Collins - Ankle Injury - November 24, 2017 - Majot Doubt

I would go for

Hart
Kouyate, Reid, Ogbonna
Zabaleta, Noble, Lanzini, Rice, Masuaku
Sakho, Ayew

I have a horrible feeling Moyes will stay with a back 4 and Carroll, up front...
